beauty defined.
I began my styling career 13 years ago in the bayou state of Louisiana. With high academic performance, I achieved my bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Pre-Medicine at LSU, but couldn’t ignore my passion for the beauty industry. Subsequently, I decided to further my education at the Aveda Institute. After 4 years of perfecting my craft, I pursued to gain my independence in the field and moved to Charlotte to expand my market. During my tenure in the Ballantyne, NC area, my role as a multi-cultural salon owner progressed into becoming the powerhouse behind the brand, Shassity Styles.
The latest development of my multi-faceted brand includes the recent opening of Skye Salons, Charlotte’s finest female-owned luxury salon suites. The unique concept and design of Skye Salons offers a collective beauty experience for both professionals and clients where community, creativity and culture meet.
Curly littles campaign
I also founded the Curly Littles Campaign, a movement focused on providing professional support and hands-on learning experiences to parents who struggle with maintaining their kid’s curly hair. This campaign also partners with adoptive and foster parents to boost kid’s self esteem and provides a judgment free learning experience.
#INFLUENCER
When I’m not working in the salon, I keep busy with brand partnerships, client styling and growing my entrepreneurial portfolio. On those rare occasions of downtime, when I’m not working on expanding the brand, I enjoy traveling the world, discovering new items at Trader Joe’s, and staying up late watching Netflix! I’m also a self proclaimed french fry connoisseur!
